Ramavarmapuram Govt.Vocational Higher Secondary School is situated at
Ramavarmapuram, the fourth division of Thrissur Corporation, nearly 4 Kms from
Thrissur town.Spread over six acres of land blessed with nature's greenary, it
began as a U.P. School in the year 1939. In 1960, our school , that is the High
School section was started near by the U.P School as a seperate
establishment(unit). Quite a number of prestigious institutions such as the
Govt. Engineering College, Vimala College, DIET(District Institute for
Education and Training), GHTTI(Govt. Hindi Teachers Training Institute),
DCFE(District Center for English), IMA Blood Bank and the Kerala Police Academy
are situated within a walkable distance The heartbeat of the cultural
capital,AIR(All India Radio) lies opposite to this school. In 1984 this school
was upgraded to a Vocational Higher Secondary School, with two Agricultural
Courses. Later in 1990 two more Engineering Courses were added and the school
at present boasts of four Vocational courses namely:(1) Plant Protection (2)
Nursery Management and Ornamental Gardening (3) Maintenance and Repairs of TV
and Radio and (4) Maintenance and Repairs of Domestic Appliances. Many students
from the nearby Govt. Juvenile Home and the NSS Balabhavan have been studying
here for years.Students also come from the nearby Sandhyagramam,Padukad and the
Police Quarters.Another fact of utmost pride is that the luminous stars of
Malayalam poetry Sri.G.SankaraKurup, Sri.Vailoppilly SreedharaMenon and
Sri.Mullanezhy Neelakandan had taught here.
